City Of Boston Files New Lawsuit Against Wynn Casino

In another attempt to block Wynn Resorts' planned casino in neighboring Everett, the city of Boston on Tuesday filed a lawsuit directly against Wynn.

The suit, reported by multiple outlets, alleges Wynn has ignored the traffic impact the casino would have on Boston's Charlestown neighborhood, and it argues the state should not have granted a key environmental permit to the casino project.

The suit follows an earlier one from the city of Boston against the state gaming commission, regarding its process in selecting the Wynn plan.

Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria, a backer of the Wynn plan, blasted the lawsuit Wednesday, saying in a statement it "appears to be another baseless attempt by Boston to litigate a solution to Sullivan Square [in Charlestown] instead of working with their regional partners."
