Forecast: A Fine, Sun-Kissed October Afternoon

If you haven’t made plans for the upcoming holiday weekend, you should try to take advantage of the good weather while it lasts.

While there will be some leftover clouds Saturday morning, and the air will feel quite cool, overall this is going to be a stellar fall weekend for all outdoor activities.

Today will be an especially nice day to take lunch outside. A mass of cooler air is building in Canada today and will arrive in our region Thursday. Ahead of the cooler air a warm October afternoon is in store.

This morning isn’t as chilly as the past few mornings, which gives us a nice leap to reach the lower 70s this afternoon. If you happen to have the day off and could get to the beach, it will actually be pretty nice there.

A cold front will go through dry tonight and bring a cooler, but bright day for Thursday. Temperatures will be about 10 degrees cooler Thursday afternoon. On Friday and Friday night a series of fronts will affect the region. This means more clouds and scattered showers, but not an entire day or night of rain. I expect a tenth to half inch of rain during this event, in other words, not too much.

Again, the weekend is going to be quite nice, especially as it falls into a warming trend. After the cool Saturday, the air will be a few degrees warmer each afternoon both Sunday and Monday. Some areas may reach 70 again early next week.
