It took less than one week after the Paris terrorist attacks to create a sharp divide in U.S. politics.

Massachusetts Reps. Stephen Lynch and William Keating joined 45 other Democrats in supporting a Republican-backed bill to require a more thorough screening of immigrants to this country from Iraq and Syria. And Gov. Charlie Baker joined other Republican governors in pushing back against refugees resettlement plans.

Political analysts Todd Domke and Dan Payne joined WBUR's Morning Edition to discuss the politics of refugees and the Paris attacks.

This segment aired on November 20, 2015.
