Ex-Uber Driver Found Guilty Of Assaulting Female Passenger

A former driver for ride-hailing service Uber has been found guilty of physically assaulting a woman while she was his passenger last year.

The Boston Globe reports a judge last week convicted Abderrahim Dakiri of assault and battery in Boston Municipal Court.

The Boston man was arrested last February on a charge of indecent assault and battery after the woman alleged he touched her indecently several times.

Dakiri was sentenced to two years' probation and was ordered to stay away from the victim, the campuses of her school and her workplace.

His lawyer declined to comment on the verdict Monday.

Uber said in a statement that the incident was "unacceptable."
