Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in Chelsea that left one person dead and several more injured.
The shooting took place just before 2:45 a.m. at a building on Washington Street.
Police responding to the scene found seven people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and one person suffering from injuries unrelated to gunfire.
The Suffolk Country District Attorney reports the victim "has been tentatively identified as a Chelsea resident in his late teens" and was taken to Whidden Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities are withholding his identity pending notification of his family.
Seven more people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.
