The field of Republican presidential candidates is now down to three.

After losing the primary in his home state of Florida to Donald Trump, Sen. Marco Rubio has suspended his campaign.

"While it is not God's plan that I be president in 2016 or perhaps ever, and while today my campaign is suspended, the fact that I have even come this far is evidence of how truly special America is," he said.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich was the Republican winner in his home state and said he's remaining in the race with Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

In the Democratic contest, Hillary Clinton was victorious in both winner take-all states — Ohio and Florida. She also was the winner in North Carolina and Illinois.

For a look at where the races will go now, political analysts Republican Todd Domke and Democrat Dan Payne joined Morning Edition.

This segment aired on March 16, 2016.
