Police in Brookline said Friday they are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a college student as she was entering her apartment building near the Boston University campus early Wednesday morning.

The woman told police she was walking home from Commonwealth Avenue around 1:45 a.m. when she was approached by a man at the front door of her building near St. Paul Street and Dummer Street. She said the man tried to talk to her and she told him to leave her alone.

Police say as the woman then tried to enter her building the suspect grabbed her and indecently assaulted her.

The woman was able to escape and run to her apartment. Police say she suffered minor injuries.

The woman told police she did not see where the man came from or notice him following her. She said she had never seen him before and was unable to determine in which direction he fled.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned male in his mid 20s to 30s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with dark hair and facial hair.
