Motorcyclist Accused Of Striking Trooper Arraigned

A Lynn man accused of striking a Massachusetts state police trooper with his motorcycle has been arraigned.

Danilo DiRoche was arraigned Tuesday in his hospital room at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and related crimes.

The 26-year-old DiRoche was taken to the hospital following Saturday's crash at Revere Beach.

Police say the trooper had just gotten out of his cruiser after stopping a car when a motorcycle being operated by DiRoche hit the trooper and then struck a car. Police say DiRoche tried to run away on foot before officers arrested him.

The trooper was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a hospital and released.

A message left for DiRoche's lawyer wasn't immediately returned.
