Forecast: Nice Weather Continues, With Some Showers Tuesday

What a weekend of weather!

If you didn't get a chance to get outside, you certainly missed one of the nicer weekends of the year so far, and one which will go down in the books as a great Father's Day weekend.

As we begin the workweek I don't see much of a change in the overall weather pattern. High pressure has been keeping the rain away for a couple of weeks, and it's going to continue to do the same thing this week, with one exception.

Overnight and into Tuesday a cold front will approach the area. Ahead of this front, clouds, humidity and a few showers will move into the area. I don't expect any showers to last long or bring much in the way of rain. The present timing of the showers has them in and out during the morning and first part of the afternoon Tuesday. This could change a bit during the day today, however.

The humidity has been very low for a while. There will be a slight increase in humidity tonight and Tuesday morning, but it's not going to become oppressive or anything like that.

The weather returns to dry and comfortably warm for the rest of the week and into the upcoming weekend. I still don't see any significant rain in our future, increasing the chances of a drought during the summer.

If you have a vacation this week or are heading to camp, the weather will be quite amazing. Just don't forget the sunscreen.

Today: Generally sunny and pleasant after some morning clouds on Cape Cod. Highs 71 at the coast, 80 in Boston and 85 in the Merrimack Valley inland.

Tonight: Clear and comfortable. Lows 56-64, warmest in Boston.

Tuesday: Partly sunny and slightly humid for a couple of hours. A few showers or a thunderstorm possible. Highs in the low- to mid-70s along the coast, upper 70s to low 80s inland.

Wednesday: Mainly sunny and pleasant. Highs 76-81.

Thursday: Sunshine, with highs in the mid 70s.

Friday: Partly sunny, highs in the 70s
