Forecast: A Few Showers, But Not The Much-Needed Soaking

A much more humid air mass than we’ve been use to is in place this morning, and there are few scattered showers in the area. Not all of us are seeing rain for the morning commute, and this hit or miss nature of showers will be the theme through tomorrow morning.

There hasn’t been much in the way of humid air this summer, but today certainly has that feeling.

After any showers early, it remains partly sunny with warm readings in the lower to middle 80s. A cold front approaches and moves through overnight with another chance of showers. Once again, if you get lucky, you could see a quarter of an inch of rainfall, but some of you won’t see a thing.

If you miss rain, it will be at least another week before there is a chance of rain, and even then, how much rainfall will come is uncertain.

It will be interesting to see if some towns shut down the Fourth of July fireworks if it becomes even drier over the next week. Some years there have been cancellations due to the dry ground, and this could be one of those.

The weather after Wednesday showers looks quite nice heading into the holiday weekend. Early indications are it will last through July 4 without any big heat or humidity. This time of year can get very hot, so a holiday where it’s nice beach weather, but not oppressive, will be welcome.
