Forecast: Heat And Humidity Comes Back For Friday

The weather across the area during the past couple days has been fantastic. Temperatures have been seasonable and humidity levels quite comfortable. However, all good things (weatherwise) must come to an end.

The jet stream has been fairly strong for this time of year and as it fluctuates across the Northeast, our weather will be changeable over the weekend. Of the next several days, today looks to be the best in terms of sunshine and tolerable humidity.

An increasing southerly flow of air will bring the moisture back to the area on Friday and, as a weak front crosses in the afternoon, a few showers and thunderstorms will develop.

The weekend looks interesting as the hot, humid air will be over us Saturday but a rather strong system will dive out of Canada and cause an area of low pressure to form just east of Boston Sunday. Most of the rain and thunderstorms should stay south across Connecticut and parts of Rhode Island. Its effect on our weather will be to bring some showers and shift our winds to a northerly direction. This will allow slightly cooler and drier air in for latter part of the weekend.

Sunshine and warmer conditions will return again next week.
