Forecast: This May Be The Last Day This Sunny And Mild Until Spring

At some point we'll have the final nice, 60-degree day of fall and today could very well be that day. It's tough to predict because there could be some mild day later in December, but by then your mind will fully be on the holidays and taking lunch outside won't seem quite appropriate — if such a day even were to occur.

What I do know is today is finally the day I have been hoping would have occurred already this week. Yesterday the clouds did remain in place, with sunshine returning for a few hours prior to sunset.

Today is different: We will enjoy full sunshine and mild temperatures. Highs today will reach the upper 50s to lower 60s and with light winds nearly everywhere this is a top 10 kind of November day.

If you are on Cape Cod and the Islands the skies will slowly clear. Across that region winds will be gusty at times so it won't be nearly as perfect a November day, but still nice nevertheless.

Saturday is my pick of the weekend with plenty of sunshine. Again the exception is southeastern Massachusetts and the coast of Rhode Island, where clouds will likely come in off the ocean. This could also occur in Boston and the coastline in the afternoon or toward evening.

Sunday a low pressure system will intensify as it moves north of our region. This will pull in the coldest air of the season so far. It will also bring blustery conditions and a chance for a few rain showers.

Sunday night and Monday, with the colder air in place, a few snow showers may crisscross the area. Most of you won't see these, but a few towns in the northwest hills of Worcester County and into northern New England could definitely see the flurries flying.

I expect dry travel weather into Wednesday of next week before more wet weather arrives sometime on Thanksgiving.
