Forecast: Cloudy Weekend With Cool Highs In The 50s

There's nothing really extraordinary about the upcoming weekend in terms of weather. We have a few showers in the forecast, but also some sunshine. It won't be very warm, but it really is not supposed to be very warm this time of year.

The amount of rain coming today isn't a lot, but it's going to be enough to likely green the landscape quite a bit. It has been very dry over the past couple of weeks, which has slowed the season's advancing line of leaves and flowers bursting forth.

Today's morning commute will feature wet roads and a raw, cool start. The rain will lessen quickly this morning, and by the afternoon I expect there will only be some mist or drizzle lingering in the air. Look for a quarter to a half inch of rain, which is enough to help lawns growing a bit more. Some of you might need to mow this weekend.

The weekend brings slow progress with a lot of clouds and just the chance of a shower. Temperatures will be milder than today.

Sunday is my pick of the weekend because a storm that earlier threatened our area will now stay far enough south to keep most of the clouds and all of the rain away. With more sunshine, Sunday will be the warmest day of the weekend.

As all the trees are in bloom, the pollen count has gotten very high from the lack of rain cleansing the air. This is typically a very intense time for those of you who suffer from spring allergies.
