It seems like the humidity was on everyone's mind yesterday, and with good reason: This is one tropical air mass.

Drier air is moving south this morning from northern New England. While it is still humid now, it will be becoming less humid throughout the day. This map below is for around 6 p.m. It shows dew points and by then many of us will have dew points in the 50s. Notice the dew points continue in the lower 70s around New York City this evening. This contrast between very tropical air and the drier air will continue to play a role in the weather through Friday.

The issue we have today and tomorrow is with areas of showers. Today, since it is still muggy, we could see some more tropical downpours. The highest risk of thunderstorms is this afternoon, but showers can occur almost any time. As was the case yesterday, some of you won't see any rainfall and others could have street flooding.

Temperatures will be highly variable, ranging from the 60s from about Boston north all day and reaching into the lower 80s southwest of Worcester, before falling this afternoon.

There will be a lull overnight before a new area of rain moves through on Friday. Friday's rain is more of a light rainfall in a cool air mass. It's not going to feel like July.

Saturday improves with a low risk of any rain and then much of next week is looking quite nice with more sunshine and warmer temperatures. After all this rain you can be sure if you have a lawn it's going to be quite long in the coming days.
