Forecast: Weather Poses Little To No Problems For Thanksgiving Travel

After a chilly and blustery Monday, temperatures are going to make a big rebound for today. Highs will reach well into the 50s, with a few places near in the 60 degree mark. There will also be plenty of sunshine.

The one thing you will notice is that the wind will also be kicking up again this afternoon, but from a different direction this time. Yesterday, winds were coming from the northwest, pulling in colder air from Canada. Today they will be coming from the southwest, pulling in warmer air from the mid-Atlantic and points south.

The mild air won't last very long as a cold front is approaching. As the front moves through tomorrow morning there could be a few showers.

I'm not expecting heavy rainfall, just scattered showers. Over Cape Cod there will be some heavier downpours and some spots may exceed an inch of rain; the rest of us, closer to a quarter to half inch. This is the only opportunity for rainfall over the next several days as the drive pattern resumes later this afternoon and continues through Friday night.

Dry Travel Weather

If you are traveling across the country there is good news in the weather department. There is one storm system on the West Coast which could bring some travel delays from rain and some wind but basically we are looking at a dry country.

The weather pattern is allowing storms to come in to the West Coast but they are moving into Canada or falling apart before making it much further east. This means that weather should not affect travel this weekend.

Around here Thanksgiving will be dry and sunny. It will also be quite chilly with highs only around 40 degrees. They'll be some moderation for Friday and it will still continue dry. Saturday is a bit milder.
