South Boston Shooting Leaves One Teenager Dead

Police are investigating a double shooting late Monday in South Boston that left one teenager dead.

Boston police said they responded to a call for a person shot after 11 p.m. Monday in the area of 264 O'Callaghan Way, which is at the McCormack housing project.

A 16-year-old boy died at the hospital. A 15-year-old suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is recovering.

Authorities have not identified the homicide victim.

There have been no arrests.

Police Commissioner William Evans thinks the victims were likely targeted. He says police have some witnesses but are looking for the public's help.
