Jury Convicts 2 Men Of First-Degree Murder In 2014 Shooting Of Woman At Dorchester Festival

Jurors found two men guilty of first-degree murder in the 2014 killing of a woman on a street in Dorchester during a Caribbean festival.

Keith Williams, 21, and Wesson Colas, 25, stood trial in the death of 26-year-old Dawnn Jaffier, who was fatally shot in the head as she stood along a parade route on Blue Hill Avenue, about a block from where shots were fired.

A second woman standing about three blocks away also suffered a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Prosecutors said Williams fired the shot that killed Jaffier but was aiming for Colas, who they said drew his gun first.

The men's sentencing is scheduled for the morning of Jan. 8.
