A Lynn man has been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of another man in Dorchester in mid-December, officials said Tuesday.
Jaquan X. Shepard, 20, was charged with murder in the death of Philip Demings, 19, of Weymouth.
Police were called to the scene at 344 Bowdoin St. on Dec. 19, after reports of a person shot. Demings was reported dead at the scene.
According to a press release from the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, Shepard was held without bail. He will be back in court on Feb. 8.
Demings' killing followed three other shootings in Boston since Halloween, when a 16-year-old was killed in Jamaica Plain. Another teenager died and one was injured in South Boston at the end of November; a week later, two young men were shot, one fatally, after a basketball game in Mission Hill.
