Boston Firefighters Rescue Woman From Harbor In Dorchester

Boston firefighters have rescued a woman spotted struggling in the waters of Boston Harbor.

The department's marine unit responded to the waters off the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in the city's Dorchester neighborhood at about 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Two firefighters jumped into the water and pulled the woman to shore.

A department spokesman says the woman was conscious when she was pulled from the water and taken to a hospital. Her condition was not disclosed.

Her name was not made public but officials say she was in her 20s.

A department spokesman says water temperatures remain cold and it was important to get the woman out of the water before hypothermia set in.

It was not clear how she ended up in the water.
