AG Healey Demands Documents From Mount Ida College Closure

State Attorney General Maura Healey is giving Mount Ida College officials until the middle of June to turn over a cache of documents as she investigates the school's abrupt closure.

According to filings submitted in Suffolk Superior Court on May 25, Healey demanded that Mount Ida turn over 28 categories of documents within three weeks. The demand includes any and all documents related to the school's financial activities, board meetings and its failed merger talks with Lasell College.

Mount Ida officials told students in April that the spring semester would be the school's last one ever and that UMass Amherst would be acquiring its campus in Newton. The AG's office has approved that sale.
