Mass. Pushing To Get More Electric Vehicles On The Road

Massachusetts is joining eight other states in an effort to fight climate change by committing to get more electric vehicles on the road.

Christine Kirby, of the Department of Environmental Protection, said transportation causes up to 40 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in Massachusetts.

"To meet our long-term and short-term greenhouse gas reduction goals we need to further decrease emissions from the transportation sector and electrifying vehicles is the primary way that we are going to get there," she said.
