Convicted Child Rapist Slated For Release To Appear In Court On New Charges

A convicted child rapist who served his time and was scheduled to be released from custody will be arraigned on new charges Monday.

Experts hired by the state cleared Wayne Chapman, 70, to be released. They said he was no longer sexually dangerous.

His victims are fighting the decision.

Chapman was arrested in prison last month and charged with indecent exposure and lewd acts while incarcerated at the state prison in Shirley.
