Driver Killed In Crash With Tractor Trailer In South Boston

Massachusetts state police are investigating a fatal crash involving a tractor trailer.

Troopers responded to reports of a crash on Haul Road in South Boston shortly after 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

The driver of a 2015 Nissan Rogue was exiting the MassPike onto Haul Road when "for reasons still under investigation" he failed to stop at a red light and struck a tractor trailer. The 59-year-old man, who has not been identified, was taken to Tufts Medical Center with serious injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

Police are still investigating the reason why the man ran the red light.
