Forecast: Very Warm, But More Sunshine Friday

Showers and thunderstorms fell across the area yesterday, but today will be a drier and sunnier day with a very limited chance of showers in the late afternoon. If you are lucky enough to have today off, it's a great day to head to the beach.

Temperatures this afternoon will reach near 90 degrees over inland areas but stay in the upper 70s to mid-80s along the coastline. There will still be plenty of humidity, although the actual dew point may be a couple of degrees lower. With temperatures higher, it's going to feel just as uncomfortable as it has all week.

On Saturday we'll see a blend of clouds and some sunshine. There is a pretty good risk of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Some of these could contain heavy downpours, but I don't expect any severe weather.

Behind this round of showers, the air will turn less muggy for a couple of days. You're going to be feeling much more comfortable Sunday, Monday and even Tuesday. Once we get into the middle of next week, the showers, thunderstorms, humidity and clouds all return for another round. Expect that most days will be humid from now through the second week of August.

The rain has helped the drought, and now we're just at slightly abnormally dry conditions.
