Forecast: Showers And Storms Possible Wednesday

A low pressure area will be moving through the region today, along with a pair of frontal systems. The combination of these two things will bring showers early this morning and again later on this afternoon.

The main threat from these storms and showers will be for heavier downpours. There's an isolated chance of severe weather, but it's a low probability. I'm hoping we see significant rain in most areas today, as it looks like we're about to go into a pretty dry spell for the next five to seven days.

The upcoming lack of rain is good news if you're rooting for nice weather this weekend. At this point, the weekend is looking really wonderful, especially if you want to head to the beach.

The humidity today will be quite high. Dew points are going to climb through the 60s and get into the lower 70s. This means that extreme tropical feeling to the air once again. Actual temperatures will be in the lower 80s, so it won't be as uncomfortable as some of the other hot and humid days we've seen this summer.

Once the frontal system clears the area later tonight, much drier air moves in for Thursday and this will be some of the most refreshing air we've seen in awhile. Although the humidity's been in check the past few days, it hasn't been really nice clean, dry Canadian air and that's what we'll be having here for Thursday.

As I said the weekend is looking great but it may be a lot hotter next week. Summer definitely has some gas left in the tank.

Wednesday: Morning showers and storms, then a break with some sun possible. More showers and storms possible later in the day. Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Quite humid.

Wednesday Night: Partly to mostly cloudy. Lows 58-63.

Thursday: Sunshine and clouds, drier. Highs in the upper 70s.

Friday: Sunshine and clouds. Still dry. Highs around 80.

Saturday: Sunshine and high clouds and warm. Highs 80-85.

Sunday Partly to mostly sunny and warm. Highs 83-87.
