Federal investigators want Massachusetts officials to immediately require gas utilities to have licensed engineers.

That's one of five urgent recommendations from the National Transportation Safety Board, which has been investigating the causes of the gas explosions and fires that ripped through the Merrimack Valley in September.

WBUR reporter Bruce Gellerman joined Morning Edition to talk more about the NTSB's recommendations.

This segment aired on November 16, 2018.
