Authorities Investigating After Woman Dies In South Boston Fire

Authorities are investigating after a fire in South Boston killed a woman and displaced three residents early Saturday morning, the Boston Fire Department said.

Firefighters responded at around 5 a.m. to a one-alarm fire on the first floor of a two-story, multi-family residence at 380 E Street, the department said in a tweet.

The woman was transported by EMS but died of her injuries, officials said. Nobody else was injured.

Damages were estimated at $200,000, officials said.
