Police Investigate Apparent Stabbing At Suffolk Superior Court

Boston and state police are investigating an apparent stabbing at Suffolk Superior Court Wednesday morning.

State police officials say at around 11:30 a.m. an argument broke out between "two groups of youths or young men" in an elevator. After exiting the elevator on the second floor, authorities say, a male victim was stabbed near the cafeteria.

A state police spokesman said the 22-year-old victim was taken to a Boston-area hospital with wounds not believed to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made, and state police say their investigation suggests "the assailant or assailants fled the courthouse immediately" after the stabbing.

The second floor of the courthouse remains closed off for investigators. The courthouse at 3 Pemberton Square was not placed on lockdown.
