Today's Weather: Sunshine Continues After Cold Start

It's chilly across the region this morning, but temperatures will warm nicely this afternoon, getting back into the mid-40s. I don't suspect we're going to see any cloud cover at all.

Today, winds will also be light so although it's rather cold, it won't feel as biting this afternoon.

A weak weather system will approach the area Thursday night and Friday. This could kick off a very light shower Thursday night.

On Friday and Saturday, our winds turn from the south, boosting temperatures. Readings will be well into the 50s and nearing 60 Friday, and then temperatures in many parts of the state will climb into the 60s for Saturday. There likely will be too much cloud cover for widespread 70-degree readings to start the weekend.

In spite of the recent cooler than average readings, early April is expected to be milder than average overall. (Courtesy NOAA)

A cold front will approach on Sunday, putting an end to the early mild conditions. I expect the chance for a few drier and colder weather returns next week. Overall, rainfall likely remains below average.
