Weekend Weather: Clouds, But Not Much Rain, And A Nice Day On Saturday

After a nice day yesterday, skies have become cloudy and it's going to be an unsettled pattern once again at times over the next several days. Although today will feature a lot of clouds and a bit of drizzle or a couple of showers, I'm not expecting much in the way of actual rainfall. The highest risk of showers will be this evening. There won't be any chance for thunderstorms or even heavy downpours, just some drizzle or light showers. This round of rain will amount to between a tenth and a quarter of an inch which is very little. You might be surprised that rainfall so far this May is below average in spite of all the clouds to start the month.

Saturday is definitely the pick of the weekend, with mostly sunny skies blended with some cloudiness and temperatures in the 60s. This is the day to get out an enjoy the mid-spring weather. Looking head towards Mother's Day you can expect clouds to be on the increase and there may be some spotty light precipitation especially during the late afternoon. Temperatures should be in the upper 50s to mid-60s. If the forecast is going to change for Sunday, it will be because winds come in off the water and cool us off.  Then it will be more of a raw and cold kind of day.

A more organized area of precipitation will move in for Sunday night and into Monday. This means potential for heavy rain and very cool temperatures. If you are someone who fertilizes your lawn or puts down lime this is definitely the weekend to do it as it will get washed in early next week.
