Springfield Man On Most Wanted List For Non-Fatal Shooting Found In North Carolina
A Springfield man, who was on State Police's most wanted list in connection with the non-fatal shooting of a woman during a robbery, was arrested Friday afternoon in North Carolina.
Aleczander Liriano, 21, was captured outside a home in Wilmington, North Carolina, authorities said.
Liriano allegedly shot a woman in her torso during a street robbery in Springfield on March 5, according to police. The victim was found lying in the street and was brought to a hospital. She survived.
Liriano will be charged with armed robbery, assault and battery and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building when he is brought back to Massachusetts, officials said.
It's not clear if Liriano has a lawyer who could respond to the allegations.
