Death Of Lexington Woman Found In A Car Ruled A Homicide

Authorities have ruled the death of a 49-year-old Lexington woman whose body was found in a car in the Massachusetts town a homicide and the investigation is continuing.

Police and the Middlesex District Attorney’s office say friends of Shen Cai found her unresponsive early Thursday morning in the vehicle on the side of a road. The woman had been reported as last seen by her husband and friends on Tuesday. Officials say the friends became worried and started to look for her after she missed two scheduled appointments, and because she had previously expressed concerns about her safety.

Investigators noticed trauma to the victim’s body.

District Attorney Marian Ryan says the death does not appear to be a random incident.

It’s believed to be Lexington’s first homicide in 25 years.
