Today's Weather: A 'Top 10' Kind Of Autumn Day

Today is the kind of day where you're going to want to not be at work or school. We're in the final week of October, and anytime this late in the year we get temperatures in the mid- and upper 60s with sunshine, it's a day to try to be outside — even if it's just for a little while.

I realize most people have to attend to responsibilities, but if you can carve out just a bit of time to get outside and enjoy the wonderful weather, I would advise you to do so. Perhaps it's taking a colleague for a walk and having a walking meeting instead of a sitting one in a conference room, or maybe it's enjoying a lunch break outside — just take advantage! These kinds of days are definitely numbered.

It's clear and cool tonight and it will start out mostly sunny on Friday before a frontal system approaches. That will bring the chance for a brief shower Friday night and early Saturday. The weekend is a split decision. Saturday is the day to work on the yard, take your run or play an October round of golf.

Clouds are going to increase during the day Sunday and rain will move in sometime during the morning or early afternoon. This rain will last for several hours and be widespread. It's also going to be cool, with cloud cover as a storm system approaches from the Ohio Valley. This system will move northeast of New England on Monday, bringing us a return to sunshine and pleasantly mild temperatures.
