Today's Weather: Unsettled Conditions Continue With Afternoon Showers

If you're expecting to see any sunshine, you'll have to be patient for a few more days. Clouds continue to dominate the landscape and there are going to be a few showers later on this afternoon. With all the gray, it's a good thing the leaves still have a lot of color, bringing a splash of vibrancy in an otherwise drab week.

Temperatures today will be milder than the past couple of days, getting into the lower and perhaps even mid-60s this afternoon. The humidity will begin to creep up overnight and we're going to have about 24 hours of relatively high humidity for this time of the year, starting Thursday and into Friday morning. In this warm and unseasonable humid air mass, there will be showers.

Of course, tomorrow is Halloween. I don't think it's going to pour the entire late afternoon and evening, but plan on wet weather and be thankful when you get the little breaks in between. It's not impossible that you will get an entirely dry hour, with just a spot or two of drizzle.

A breeze out of the south will be noticeable and quite gusty, especially along the coast during the late afternoon and evening.

On Friday morning, a cold front will be approaching. We will start the day in humid air and end in very dry and cooler conditions. There's likely to be some clearing by the end of the day, and that will set us up for a nice fall weekend. Saturday is the final day of daylight saving time. The sun will set before 5 p.m. Sunday and continue that way until we get to early February.

Remember, if you're a morning person, it will get light around 6 a.m. for the next few weeks, but even this will be fleeting with 7 a.m. or later sunrises for much of December and all of January.
