Today's Weather: A Mild November Day Ahead

We have a beautiful Tuesday on tap with no weather issues, barring the exception of solar glare heading east this morning and west this afternoon.

Temperatures Monday got well into the 50s and today, it's not going to surprise me if some areas actually nudge that 60-degree mark. This is above average for November — something we have not seen much of since the first week of the month. If Boston did hit 60 degrees, it would only be the second time we've done so this month the first being on Nov. 1.

We can thank high pressure, which is in control of our weather for the nice day, but it won't last. I'm already watching a cold front slicing through the center part of the country, heading east. As this front approaches Wednesday, clouds will thicken and there's a good chance for showers later on in the afternoon.

Of course, we all know that traveling today and Wednesday is quite difficult and involves lots of traffic. The worst time on the roads is supposed to be Wednesday afternoon — about the time the showers will arrive. When you add in the darkness, it will exacerbate an already difficult situation tomorrow evening.

The sky should clear Thursday for a blustery — albeit chilly — Thanksgiving holiday. Temperatures will remain in the lower 40s. Friday also looks dry and sunny, with readings on the cooler side of average. After a nice day Saturday, we'll have to turn our attention to a storm system, which may bring rain and snow to the area for Sunday and Monday. Depending on the exact track of this system, it could impact the ride home on Sunday. I'll have more on this in the coming days.
