Man Found Dead In Burning Car With Gunshot Wounds In Sharon, Mass.

Authorities in Massachusetts are trying to determine the identity of a dead body found in a burning car with what appeared to be several gunshot wounds.

The burning car was found in Sharon near the Canton line at about 1 a.m. Monday, according to a statement from the Norfolk district attorney's office.

The body of a what appears to be an adult male was found in the burned vehicle. While the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is still working to confirm the identity of the victim, the initial investigation revealed the apparent gunshot wounds.

It was not clear where the shooting occurred.

The car had recently been rented by another person who has been contacted by investigators.
