Today's Weather: A Warm And Dry Thursday

There might be a few clouds to start the day across the south coast, but generally think of today as summer. It will actually become less humid throughout the day, although temperatures will be quite warm. This afternoon, I expect many places to reach 82 to 87 degrees. The exception will be along Cape Cod, where readings will stay in the upper 60s to mid-70s. There's no chance of any precipitation today.

The humidity comes roaring back tomorrow with dew points getting well into the 60s. The air is warm enough to support temperatures into the 80s once again and there could be a morning storm and another one in the afternoon. Much of the shower activity, if not all of it, will be limited and it's possible that some of you will miss showers all together.

On Saturday, a cold front approaches. This will bring a renewed chance for a shower or thunderstorm. Depending on what time the front arrives will determine whether there is any widespread thunderstorm activity or just some scattered stuff.

Whatever happens, it's going to turn noticeably cooler and drier for the second half of the weekend. Sunday is the pick of the weekend, in my opinion, because of the more comfortable temperatures. But Saturday won't be a washout, even if we get showers.

Conditions remain very dry and we do need rain. Let's hope we get some over the next few of days.

Thursday: Sunshine and a few clouds. Highs in the mid to upper 80s. Cooler 70s/60s Cape Cod.

Thursday night: Mild and dry. Lows in the low to mid 60s.

Friday: Clouds and sun, more humid. Afternoon could bring a shower or thunderstorm. Highs 82-7. Cooler south coast.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Warm, with a shower possible. Highs near 83.

Sunday: Partly cloudy. Highs around 74.

Monday: Mainly sunny, highs in the mid 70s.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Highs in the upper 70s.
