Gymnastics Coach Charged With Rape Of Teenage Student

A Massachusetts gymnastics coach has been charged with rape for allegedly assaulting a former teenage student.

David Auger, 41, of Hudson, assaulted the girl starting when she was 17 while she was a student at the 10.0 Academy of Gymnastics in Stow, according to a statement from the Middlesex district attorney's office.

He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday to three counts of rape and was released on $5,000 bail.

Auger, who owns the gym, used his position to control the girl and assaulted her beginning Jan. 27, 2018, until July 30, 2019, after she had turned 18, prosecutors allege.

Auger's attorney said his client returned from out of state when he learned of the charges and the allegations are not true.

Auger is not allowed to have any contact with the alleged victim, can have no unsupervised contact with children under 18, cannot work at a gym, and cannot leave the state. He is due back in court Sept. 11.
