71-Year-Old Man Charged With Roxbury Woman's Murder

A 71-year-old Roxbury man has been charged with murdering a woman in an Egleston Square apartment, according to Boston police.

Alan Washington is charged in connection with the homicide of 58-year-old Tanya Malone, who was found suffering from "apparent traumatic injuries" on Tuesday night, police said in a statement. Malone was found in the area of 1990 Columbus Ave., the site of Boston Housing Authority's Walnut Park development.

Washington is set to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court, police said. The incident remains under investigation.
