Cambridge Man Charged After Collision With Boston Police Cruiser

A Boston police officer is recovering from injuries after his cruiser collided with another vehicle early Sunday morning in Roxbury.

Police said the officer was driving outbound on Columbus Avenue when there was a collision with an inbound car at about 1 a.m. Police said that driver has been identified as Louis Wallace, 33, of Cambridge.

Wallace is due in Roxbury District Court on charges of operating under the influence and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, police said.

BPD said the officer's injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
