With just a month to go before the Boston mayoral election, City Councilor Michelle Wu has a financial edge over her opponent, Councilor Anissa Essaibi George, new figures show.

Reports filed with the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance show Wu with nearly $368,000 in the bank as of Sept. 30, more than double the total for Essaibi George.

The reports show Wu took in over $297,000 since she became the top vote getter in the Sept. 14 preliminary election. Essaibi George netted $195,000 in the same period.

Wu had over $585,000 in expenditures in the month of September, outspending Essaibi George by $178,000.

Wu and Essaibi George face off against each other in Boston's municipal election on Nov. 2.
