ESPN analyst Tim Kurkjian joins Bill to discuss all things baseball.  On tap for discussion: Some good news in the midst of a season of bad for the Washington Nationals, Sammy Sosa’s shocking (!) failed drug test, and the return of Manny Ramirez.

Fathers and sons chime in on a Father’s Day piece about seeing loved ones drafted and realizing dreams on the diamond.

Not even the rain-soaked opening days of the U.S. Open can dampen interest in the golf major.  Bill provides an update.  Also, a look back on last year’s U.S. Open, which was so thrilling that it prompted author John Feinstein to write a book about the two finalists and their overtime battle.  Feinstein joins Bill to discuss his book, titled “Are You Kidding Me?”

Mass burial sights, hidden curses, blood curdling screams… and laughs?  The Only A Game staff has some fun traveling in time to the 2012 Olympics in London.

Bill gives voice to the many who took issue with Charlie Pierce's comments on Karen Davy, the Dolly Parton impersonator, and reads a letter that praises Only A Game for shedding light on anxiety disorders in sports.

Charlie Pierce and Bill talk about the possibility of a new Titletown, U.S.A, the soggy U.S. Open, and the impact of Cristiano Ronaldo’s appearance in short shorts on overall fashion sales.

In a game populated by mostly gentlemanly celebrities (notable exception: John Daly), it seems out of place for golf spectators to be anything but polite.  But as Only A Game’s Ron Schachter found at the U.S. Open, golf fans can get nasty, too.

This program aired on June 20, 2009.
