Music from the Show
Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah) by Chic (from Chic: The Definitive Groove Collection, Atlantic/Rhino, 2006)
Another one of my guilty pleasures…musically speaking, of course. Others (musical and non-musical) include Andy Williams, En Vogue, cookies and sweets, that one good Flock of Seagulls song (Telecommunication) and Walker, Texas Ranger.
Piratas by Los Tres (from Se Remata El Siglo, Sony, 1993)
“Piratas” means “Pirates." I’m pretty sure of that. “Los Tres” means “The Trees.” I’m pretty sure of that, too.
Joyride by Built to Spill (from The Normal Years, K Records, 1996)
Built to Spill also has a song called “Big Dipper,” as do Cracker, Huey “Piano” Smith, King Curtis, Jethro Tull, Salt Tank, Thad Jones and Mel Lewis and Elton John. But none of those songs are about the grossly underappreciated indie rock band of the ‘80’s and ‘90’s. Go figure.
Phillipine National Anthem (from Complete National Anthems of the World: Volume 5, Marco Polo, 1998)
That’s the Phillipine National Anthem? Not for long.
