Manny Ramirez's retirement may have been the best thing for the Tampa Bay Rays, as his departure made room for new outfielding star Sam Fuld. Although the Rays started their season with an 1-8 drought,  Fuld's speed and determination have revived his team.  WUSF's  Bobbie O'Brien reports on Super Sam Sunday, a day on which the Rays showed their appreciation for Fuld's recent contributions to the team, while attempting to bring more fans to Tropicana field. On Super Sam Sunday, 10,000  fans were given "Super Sam" capes that picture the likeness of Sam Fuld, and give a nod to Fuld's abilities to make plays that could only be expected from Superman himself.

This segment aired on June 11, 2011.
