Ferris Wheel by Donovan (from The Essential Donovan, Epic/Legacy, 2012)

I've probably said it before, but I'll say it again; "Donovan" and "essential" are oxymorons.

Say Hey (The Willie Mays Song) by the Treniers (from Baseball's Greatest Hits, Rhino, 1992)

This is the best baseball song of the 50's…

I Love Mickey by Mickey Mantle and Teresa Brewer (from Baseball's Greatest Hits, Rhino, 1992)

No, this is the best baseball song of the 50's. Discuss.

Puffin' Billy by Melodi Light Orchestra (from Greatest Old Time Kids Classics, Vintage Masters, Inc., 2012)

Reminds me of quiet weekday mornings in Allston, Mass. Decades ago.

Chuck Norris by Dave Tieff (from A Trip Into the Sun, KETS Records, 2012)

This is just amazing. It's the best Chuck Norris song among the many, many Chuck Norris songs. I am totally bringing this to my family's annual party wherein Chuck Norris tales are told under the influence of frozen drinks.

Kayaking by Domestic Science Club (from Domestic Science Club, Sleeveless, 1994)

This is what it would have sounded like had the Andrews Sisters hung around long enough to do ad jingles for REI. Very cool.

This segment aired on May 25, 2013. The audio for this segment is not available.
