NBA teams spent a combined $1.4 billion on the first day of free agency. This week, Charlie Pierce and Bill Littlefield discuss whether this year's free agents are especially worthy of large sums of money or whether this is simply a sign of things to come. Also, Charlie doesn't seem to feel bad for Laura Bassett, the English soccer player who scored an own goal that sent her team out of the World Cup. Plus, did Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic cheat at Wimbledon by exchanging knowing glances with their coaches? (It didn't seem to help in Nadal's case. He was eliminated int he second round.)
