Former Oakland coach and current Monday Night Football analyst John Gruden will reportedly return to coach the Raiders.

But in courting Gruden, did the Raiders subvert the NFL's "Rooney Rule," which requires teams to interview minority candidates for head coach and general manager openings?

And that's not the only headline out of the NFL this week: The regular season is over, and the league's 2017 ratings are officially down. Television ratings dropped 9.7 percent, and there are varying theories to explain the decline.

The Ringer's Claire McNear and the Wall Street Journal's Jason Gay join Bill Littlefield.
