Big-name college basketball programs like Arizona, Duke and North Carolina are among those caught up in the latest NCAA scandal. Everyone from LeBron James to former President Barack Obama has weighed in on the NCAA's "farm system." Mike Pesca believes the size of the current scandal could lead to change.

Also in the world of basketball, the NBA is still grappling with the issue of tanking: teams losing on purpose to earn better draft position. Commissioner Adam Silver recently sent a memo to teams saying that proven tanking will be "met with the swiftest and harshest response possible from the league office." That came just after Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was fined $600,000 for telling his team that "losing is our best option." Cindy Boren offers her take on tanking.

And, Houston Rockets guard James Harden sent the internet into a frenzy on Wednesday night by faking out and staring down Wesley Johnson.

Bill Littlefield thinks Harden's actions were far more entertaining than disrespectful.
