The Economy: Will it recover?

The Dow Jones experienced its largest single day drop ever today, with the industrials tumbling more than 680 points. The one-day drop was not surprising, as today was the first day of trading since last Tuesday's terrorist attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center. But what long-term impact will the attack have on the economy? Is the recession that was feared before now a foregone conclusion?
