photoIreland has been on quite a roll for the last decade and more. After many years of being one of Europe's poorest countries, it has exploded economically to become one of its richest. Last November, the Economist's yearly Intelligence Unit report affirmed Ireland's powerhouse reputation, calling it the country with the best quality of life in the world.

But there are new issues confronting the nation: its changing relationship with the IRA, its transition from a nation of emigrants to immigrants, and the growing power's interactions with both the U.S. and E.U.
